Recording the collection of a security deposit

When a new lease is created in Propra and the accounting module has been activated, an accounts receivable entry for the security deposit is automatically created. Once you have received the money from the tenant, it's important to record that deposit.

  1. Go to Accounting > Receivables
  2. Select the appropriate entry and click the purple Deposit button. 
  3. Select the appropriate trust bank account where the money will be held, the date the deposit was made, and method of payment.
  4. Ensure the amount received from the tenant matches the amount in the deposit transaction.
  5. Click Post. After posting the deposit receivable the deposit on the lease will update to Collected
