Reviewing Renter Insurance Expiries in Propra

Learn how to track and manage renter insurance expiries in Propra. Identify upcoming expirations, notify tenants, and review updated insurance documents—all in one streamlined workflow.

Keeping tenant insurance up to date is an important part of property management. In Propra, you can track upcoming insurance expiries and proactively remind residents to renew their policies and upload updated documentation.

Step 1: Navigate to the Insurance Dashboard

Start by locating tenants with upcoming insurance expiries:

  1. Go to the Dashboard dropdown

  2. Select Residential

  3. Navigate to the Insurance tab

From this page, you can view all tenant insurance records in one place.

Step 2: Sort and Filter Expiry Dates

The Insurance page allows you to quickly identify expiring policies:

  • Sort by:

    • Insurance company name

    • Expiry date

    (Use the arrows beside the titled columns)

  • Use the filter bar to narrow results:

    • Filter by a specific expiry timeframe

    • Example: Select policies expiring by the end of May

This helps you focus only on tenants who need immediate follow-up.

Step 3: Notify Tenants to Update Their Insurance

Once you’ve identified upcoming expiries:

  1. Go to the Announcements feature

  2. Send a reminder to affected tenants

  • Guidance on uploading proof of insurance

Step 4: Tenant Updates Their Insurance

Residents can easily manage their insurance through their portal:

  • Log into their Resident Portal and go to the Lease tab in the top right

  • Select Add Insurance

  • Update insurance details and upload proof of insurance

  • Share the document with the property manager

Step 5: Review Updated Insurance

Once a tenant updates their information:

  • You’ll receive a notification (if enabled)

To turn on notifications:

  1. Go to Account Settings

  2. Select My Profile

  3. Navigate to the Leases section

  4. Enable Insurance Update Notifications

Then:

  1. Go to the Lease page for the tenant

  2. Scroll to the Insurance section (bottom of the page)

  3. Click the orange icon to review/update details

  4. Download the uploaded document for confirmation
