Owner Contributions

The Owner Contributions task is used to create receivables for owners (your clients) whose properties have more payables than available funds in the operating bank account. This can also be referred to as a cash call.

It ensures that each property has sufficient funds to cover outstanding payables by automatically generating a receivable from the corresponding owner.

NOTE: This task will only run when the operating bank balance is less than the total amount of posted payables. If there are enough funds available, no owner contributions will be created.

Before You Begin

Before running the task, confirm that all payables have been posted and that the bank balance in the operating account accurately reflects current funds. This ensures that the contribution amounts generated are correct.

Running the Owner Contributions Task

  1. Go to the Task page and select Owner Contributions.

  2. Enter the posting date for the receivables to be created.

  3. Select the properties or teams you’d like to include in the process.

  4. Pick the due date for the invoice.

  5. Click Create.

The system will review the selected properties and identify any where the operating bank balance is lower than the amount of posted payables. A receivable will then be generated for each corresponding owner, equal to the shortfall amount.

Reviewing and Posting

On the next screen, you can review the contribution details before posting:

  • To exclude an owner, remove the checkmark next to their name.

  • To adjust a contribution amount, click the pencil icon beside the amount.

The total contribution amount will automatically update based on any edits.

When your review is complete, click Post Owner Contributions and confirm your action.

Once posted, these receivables will appear in the Outstanding Receivables list for each applicable owner and can be marked as paid as funds are received.
