Charging Management Fees

Modified on Mon, Sep 16 at 10:18 AM

Propra makes it simple to manage and post management fees for properties and owners, offering flexible options to suit your specific needs. Whether you charge a percentage-based fee, a per-unit fee, a flat fee, or a combination, Propra streamlines the process by automatically calculating the correct charges based on your settings. Once the fees are calculated, Propra records the appropriate accounts payable entry, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your accounting process.

Management Fee Settings

To add how a management fee is calculated for an owner and their property:

  1. Click on Owners in the left-hand menu.

  2. Find and select the owner record you wish to update.

  3. Click on the Financial tab and then the pencil icon in the right corner to edit the owner's default management fee and other financial information for that owner.

    • If the owner has multiple properties and one or more have different management fees than their default, go to the Portfolio tab on the owner's record and click the 3-dot/kebab menu to update an individual property's management fee.

If you charge a percentage-based fee based on revenue, you can define which fees are included in the calculation under Financial Settings.

  5. Review and adjust the amounts, if desired.

  6. Click Post Management Fees to record the management fee accounts payable transaction for that property, payable to your company / account.

A PDF bill for the management fee will be automatically generated in the owner's portal under their property's expense tab.
