Property Balance Sheet

See the assets, liabilities and equity for a single property and owner.

Written by Karyn Millar

The Property Balance Sheet shows the financial position of one property, for its owner, on a single date.

Use it to check a property's bank, trust and receivable balances, what it owes, and its equity.

How to run it

  1. Go to Accounting in the left-hand menu and click Reports.

  2. Under Income Statements and Balance Sheets, click Property Balance Sheet.

  3. Choose the Property, check the Owner and the End Date.

  4. Click Open. The report generates and opens in the report viewer.

Options

  • Property — choose the property. The Owner fills in automatically with the property's owner. Use the arrows between the two fields if you want to choose the owner first.

  • End Date — the date the balances are calculated as of. It defaults to the last day of the previous month.

  • Compare another period (optional) — adds a second column so you can compare two periods side by side.

Reading the report

Accounts are grouped into Assets, Liabilities and Equity, each with a total.

Working with the report

  • Update Parameters — change the dates or filters and re-run the report without going back to the Reports page.

  • Export icons (top right) — download the report, for example to an Excel spreadsheet.

  • Print and download — use the print and download buttons in the viewer toolbar to save or print the PDF.

  • Share — available on owner and property reports. Saves a PDF copy of the report so you can share it with the owner.
