The Audit log is a complete, searchable record of every change made in your Propra account. For every create, update and delete, it shows who made the change, when, what record was affected, and exactly what changed — including the old and new values.
Use it to answer questions like "Who deleted this bill?", "When did this owner's details change?" or "Was this done by a person or automatically by the system?"
Where to find it
Go to Settings → Account → Audit in the left-hand menu, or click the Audit tab across the top of your Account settings. The feed loads automatically with the most recent changes first.
Note: Only users with the Admin role can see the Audit tab.
Reading an audit entry
Each row is one change. The columns are:
When — the date and time the change was made.
Who — the manager who made the change. Changes made automatically by Propra (for example, background processing or reconciliation updates) show as System.
Event — the type of change: Created, Updated or Deleted.
Entity — the record that changed, such as a Books journal, Books clearable or Books reconciliation, with the property name above it where one applies.
ID — the unique ID of the record. Useful when you need to reference an exact record with our support team.
Related — the records connected to the change, such as the Property, Owner, Payee and GL account.
Change — the details of the change (see below).
IP — the IP address the change was made from. System changes and some automated actions show a dash (—).
Understanding the Change column
Created and Deleted entries list the record's values — for example Amount, Description, Posted date and Payee.
Updated entries show the before and after value with an arrow: old value → new value. A dash on the left (— → rental) means the field was previously empty. A + means a value was added to a list.
If a record has more fields than fit, you'll see +1 more (or +2, +3…). Export the page to CSV to see every field.
How to use
Filter by event type
Click the Event dropdown next to the search bar.
Choose All, Created, Updated or Deleted.
The feed and the row count update to show only that type of change.
Search the history
Type into the search bar at the top of the grid. You can search by name (property, owner, payee, manager), summary text, or a record ID.
The feed filters to matching entries and the total row count updates at the bottom.
Click the X in the search bar to clear it and return to the full history.
Tip: Combine search with the Event filter. For example, search a property address and set Event to Created to see everything added to that property.
Grid tools
The icons on the top right of the grid are, from left to right:
Refresh — reloads the feed to pick up the latest changes.
Density — choose Compact, Standard or Comfortable row spacing.
Export this page — downloads the entries on the current page as a CSV file.
Full screen — expands the grid to fill your screen. Click the icon again to exit.
Export entries to CSV
Use search and the Event filter to narrow down to the entries you need.
Set Rows per page at the bottom of the grid (25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1000) so everything you want is on one page.
Click Export this page. The entries on that page download as a CSV.
Common ways to use the Audit log
Investigate a missing or changed transaction. A bill or journal entry disappeared? Search the property or payee, filter to Deleted, and you'll see who removed it, when, and the original amount and description.
Confirm who changed a record. Filter to Updated to see the before → after values and the manager responsible.
Tell people apart from automation. Entries marked System were made automatically by Propra, not by a member of your team.
Trust accounting and owner reporting. Export the history for a property to support month-end reviews, owner questions or an internal audit.
Team oversight and training. Review what a new team member has created or changed while they're getting up to speed.
Faster support. When contacting Propra support about a specific record, include its ID from the Audit log so we can find it right away.
FAQ
Who can access the Audit log?
Only users with the Admin role can view the Audit tab and its contents.
What kinds of changes are recorded?
Creates, updates and deletes across your account's records. Updates show which fields changed with their old and new values.
What does "System" mean in the Who column?
The change was made automatically by Propra (a background process) rather than by a manager.
Can I search by date?
There is no date filter yet. The feed is sorted newest first and every entry shows its exact timestamp, so page through to the time window you need — or export and sort the CSV by date.
Does the export include all history or just what's on screen?
The export includes the entries on the current page. Narrow the feed with search and the Event filter, and increase Rows per page (up to 1000) to export more at once.
Can I undo a change from the Audit log?
No — the Audit log is a read-only record. Use the details it shows (values, IDs, related property and payee) to correct the record in the relevant part of Propra.
