Tenant Screening helps you make confident leasing decisions by running identity and background checks through SingleKey, directly from Propra. It’s built into the vacancy workflow so applicants can complete screening as part of their application.
What you need before you start
An active Campaign in Propra
SingleKey screening enabled/available in your account
How it works in Propra
When you create a campaign, Propra generates an online application link for tenants.
That tenant application includes a direct SingleKey screening link, so the applicant can complete screening as part of the same process.
Step 1: Create a Campaign
✅ Once the campaign is created, Propra will generate the Tenant Application link.
Step 2: Share the Tenant Application Link
Open the campaign you created.
Copy the Application Link.
Send it to applicants (email, text, listing platform, QR Code, etc.).
Step 3: Tenant Completes the Application + Screening
From the tenant’s side, the process is typically:
Open the application link
Follow the screening steps in SingleKey
Submit
Tip: Let applicants know screening works best on a modern browser (Chrome/Edge) and that they should enter their details exactly as shown on ID/banking records.
Step 4: Review Screening Status in Propra
Go back to the Campaign.
Open the Applications list.
Click into the applicant.
You’ll be able to see:
The tenant’s application details
Step 5: Make a Decision & Move Forward
Once you’ve reviewed:
Application details
Screening results
Income/employment information (if included)
Notes and communications
You can proceed with your normal workflow:
Approve applicant
Move them forward to lease prep
Decline (based on your internal policies and applicable regulations)
Best practices for smooth screening
Screen every adult occupant who will be on the lease.
Ensure the campaign/unit details are correct before sharing the link.
If multiple applicants apply together, send them one invitation. The primary applicant can invite additional lease holders and co-signers to the application.
Use consistent criteria across applicants to stay fair and compliant.
