👩‍💻 Training New Team Members in Propra

When bringing new staff onboard, it’s important to give them hands-on experience in Propra without granting full access to your live account.
The best way to do this is by setting up a safe training environment where they can learn and practice using real workflows — risk free.


🧭 Recommended Training Setup

1. Create a Test Property

Start by creating a Test Property in your account.
This will be your training environment where your team can safely:

  • Create and edit leases

  • Add tenants and owners

  • Test maintenance requests and inspections

  • Practice accounting tasks without affecting real data

Title the property Test and message [email protected] to let them know you have a test property. This will allow us to mark it as a test property and not charge you. If we do not know that you have a test property set up you will be charged for the units added.


2. Set Up Trainees as Users

Add each new team member as a User (with limited permissions).
This ensures they can log in and participate in training, but cannot make changes to your live portfolio.

💡 Tip: You can always edit or expand their permissions later once they’re fully trained.


3. Create a Training Team

Go to Settings → Account → Teams and create a new team for your trainees.
Link only the Test Property to this team so they can only view and interact with that property.
This setup keeps your real portfolio secure while giving them the freedom to explore.


4. Share Training Materials

Provide your team with:

Encourage your team to follow along with the videos, review the slides, and complete the same tasks shown in the training guide.


5. Use In-App Chat for Support

If your trainees have questions as they go through training, remind them to use the chat feature in the bottom-right corner of Propra.
It’s the quickest and most direct way to get support from our team and will allow them to continue their work.

  • Learn confidently in a hands-on way

  • Understand Propra’s workflows before handling live data

  • Get real-time support from our team as they learn

Once they’re comfortable and confident, you can expand their permissions and give them access to your live properties.
