Issuing Deposits in Propra
When managing deposits in Propra, you’ll sometimes notice that the “Issue Deposit” button is greyed out. This means that the deposit has not been marked as collected, so the system doesn’t yet recognize it as money that can be refunded or issued.
Here’s how to fix it 👇
🔹 Step 1: Check if the Deposit Invoice Was Collected
If the deposit invoice exists but hasn’t been marked as paid:
Go to your Receivables page.
Locate the deposit invoice.
Click Post to record the payment.
Select your account, posting date, and payment method.
Once posted, return to your lease — the Issue Deposit button should now be available.
🔹 Step 2: If There’s No Deposit Invoice in Receivables
If you don’t see a deposit invoice listed:
Go to the Lease page.
Select the Financials tab.
Click Manage Deposits.
Check the Collected box.
On the next page, click on the pencil icon to enter the collection date — the date the deposit was originally received.
Click Save.
After saving, the system will recognize the deposit as collected, and you’ll now be able to issue the deposit.
🧾 Why Was the Invoice Not Marked as Paid?
There are two common reasons this happens:
The deposit invoice was deleted after the lease was created.
The lease was included in your onboarding import, but the deposit wasn’t flagged as collected at that time.
