Pre-Move-Out Checklist
Check out Propras Marketplace for Promo Codes and offers!

  1. Cancel or Transfer Utilities
Contact electricity, water, gas, internet, and waste service providers to cancel or transfer services effective on your move-out date.

  2. Update Your Address
Set up mail forwarding with Canada Post and update your address with banks, insurance companies, and subscription services.

  3. Home Insurance
Notify your insurer of your move-out date or arrange for coverage to transfer to your new place.

  4. Book Movers or Rental Truck
Reserve your moving company or rental truck early. If you’re moving from a condo, book elevator time in advance.

  5. Return Keys & Access Codes
Gather all keys, fobs, garage remotes, and alarm codes to return to the landlord, property manager, or new owner.

  6. Final Walk-Through
Do a full inspection of the unit to ensure it’s clean and damage-free before handing it back. Take photos for your records.

  7. Deep Cleaning
Clean the property thoroughly or hire a professional cleaning service to ensure it’s move-out ready.

  8. Appliances & Fixtures
Wipe down and clean appliances, cupboards, and fixtures. Ensure everything is left in good working order.

  9. Safety Check
Remove personal information from smart locks, thermostats, or connected devices.

  10. Leave Helpful Info
If appropriate, leave manuals, warranty info, or notes for the next occupant (e.g., garbage day schedule).

If you have any questions leading up to move-out day, or if there’s anything we can provide to make the process easier, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Wishing you a smooth and stress-free move-out!
