How to Disable or Enable a Unit in Propra

Disabling units feature

Written by Karyn Millar

Propra gives you the flexibility to disable individual units within a property, perfect for handling renovations, vacancies, or removing old data without deleting records.

When disabling a property unit or owner, it is important to ensure that the accounting is complete first. Things to look for include

  • Has the security deposit been issued

  • Has the lease been terminated

  • Have all the tenant invoices been collected or written off

  • Has the owner's income payout been generated and paid

We recommend after the accounting is complete to generate the final financial statements for the period and the fiscal year and send them to the owner. If you missed generating the statements prior to disabling a property or owner you can change your accounting settings to view those properties and owners. Otherwise disabled properties, owners and units will be hidden from work flows.

How to Disable a Unit

  1. Log in to Propra at https://propra.app.

  2. Navigate to the Properties screen and select the relevant property.

  3. From the Units tab, click on the unit you wish to disable.

  4. On the Unit Details screen, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

  5. Select “Disable Unit” (indicated by an “X” icon).

Note: If the unit has an active lease, you’ll receive a warning. Disabling the unit will automatically terminate the lease associated with it. It says: “Any active leases or requests will be cancelled. Do you want to disable this unit?”

and

“This action cannot be undone.”

Viewing or Editing Disabled Units

  • On the Units tab of a property, check the “Show Deactivated” box to display all disabled units.

  • From here, you can view or make edits to any disabled unit.

How to Re-Activate a Unit

  1. Make sure the “Show Deactivated” checkbox is selected.

  2. Click into the disabled unit.

  3. Use the three-dot menu and choose “Enable Unit.”

This will return the unit to active status so you can resume regular operations.
