Deactivating a tenant in Propra is a way to remove the tenant from your active tenant list once they’ve fully moved out and their account is closed. This helps keep your records organized and ensures that only current, active tenants appear in your dashboard.
Before You Deactivate a Tenant
Before deactivating a tenant, it’s important to make sure all final tasks for their lease are completed. Please confirm that you have:
Terminated their lease – The tenant must not be on an active lease. You cannot deactivate a tenant while their lease is still active.
Collected all outstanding invoices – Ensure all rent and other charges are paid in full.
Paid out any deposits or refunds – Issue any owed security deposits or other balances.
Once these steps are complete, you can safely deactivate the tenant.
How to Deactivate a Tenant
Go to the Tenants section in your Propra dashboard.
Locate the tenant you want to deactivate.
Click the three-dot menu (⋮) beside their name.
Select Deactivate Tenant. (if this is grey it means they still have an active lease)
Important Notes
If the tenant has active invoices set to collect via Autopay, those collections will still occur even after deactivation.
Deactivating a tenant does not delete their records — their information, history, and documents remain stored in Propra for your records.
If you need to reactivate a tenant later, simply locate them under Deactivated Tenants and click Reactivate.
