🏠 Setting Up a Two-Unit Rental House in Propra (Main Floor + Basement)
If you're managing a house that has both a main floor and a basement suite as separate rental units, Propra makes it simple to organize everything in one place. Here's how to set it up:

Step-by-Step Guide
1. Start from the Properties Tab
Navigate to the Properties tab on the left-hand menu.
Click “Add Property” in the top-right corner.
2. Set the Number of Buildings
Since this is a single house, choose “1 Building”.
3. Enter Property Details
Name the Property: Use the house address as the property name, and optionally add "(House)" for clarity.
Example: 123 Main Street (House)
Property Type: Select “Rental” since the house is being rented out.
Address: Enter the full street address; Propra will autofill some fields to save you time.
Select the Owner: Choose the overall owner of the house (not just one of the suites).
4. Add the Units
Once you've added the property, Propra will take you to the Units screen:
Click “Add Unit” twice—once for the main floor and once for the basement suite.
Label each unit clearly to reflect its position in the house.
Example: Unit 1 - Main Floor
Unit 2 - Basement Suite
🔎 Viewing the Setup
Once the units are added:
You’ll see both units listed under the property on the Property screen.
You can manage rent, leases, maintenance, and communication for each unit separately, while still keeping everything grouped under the same house.
✅ Why This Setup Works
Organizing multi-suite houses in this way allows for clean and efficient management. Each unit operates independently, but you still retain a clear overview of the entire house.
